The Pelé Pequeno Príncipe Institute works in order to generate and improve knowledge, using research in the areas of oncology, clinical research and geo-processing, among others.
However, in order to achieve its objectives and give continuity to the research, it needs to call for resources.
For the relevance of the activities that are already developed by the Institute and for the potential to generate knowledge for the cure and treatment of our children, we need to concentrate our efforts, together with the Brazilian society, so as to realize this project. The fundraising project was one of the ways found for calling for resources for the Institute, besides paying tribute to the athlete of the century, Edson Arantes do Nascimento.
The first project of the Goals For Life Program is the offer of commemorative medals referring to the 1283 goals scored by Pelé during his career. Coined by the Brazilian Mint, the pieces were produced in the versions gold, silver and bronze e for the first time each one of them brings the number of the goal it refers to in the face.
The medals are available to the public in our virtual shop. Those referring to the special goals of Pelé’s career will be auctioned to increase the fundraising.
The Medal Project estimates a fundraising of R$ 5.500.000,00 (if the medals are sold for their face price).
For 2008, other projects of the Goals For Life Program will be launched.
This project foresees the capitalization of the Pelé Pequeno Príncipe Fund for the Protection of Childhood (Pelé Pequeno Príncipe Child Care Fund).
